At times I find myself lucky that I am the only child of my parents. No sharing, no bearing, all-inclusive and full of love in full capacity and potential.
And for other reasons, I acquired these two sisters, an elder one and a younger one from maasi and mama genre.
Now Aparna Reddy and Meghna Khanna Hoskote. I married a Punju, Appu to a Reddy and Meghna found a handsome Maharashtrian Brahmin guy.
I have been in awe of my Appu since the day I first saw her. She was my world when we visited nani’s house in Hyderabad every year. Whatever she told me was the gospel truth and nothing was questionable. I settled in peace with her. I found her the most beautiful girl I ever saw.
Ten years later I met my Meghna who was the cranky crybaby, Always complaining and sucking her two middle fingers following me everywhere. I have beaten her when barely two years of age she wet her bed.
Today, they are my pillars. They are my heroines of workshop stories.. One is peace, always giving, strong, traditional and modern, ultra-sophisticated cultured and so humble. And the other a fighter, a rebel, a connector, cultured and a gypsy at heart, a thread sewing multiple beads stitching a colorful life.
Both are sensitive and strong. Both are hugely admired and Inspire many lives. Both breathe, live, thrive. And hold. Behold!
I have broken their hearts couple of times, both forgave me, one stopped talking yet did not stop loving me, the other ignored still did not stop visiting me.
Appu’s disapproval was shown in silence and Meghna’s in the soft tears. One chose her words carefully, the other’s mind thought faster than her tongue could roll. It still remains a challenge for me to catch her words, her wit, her humor and her laughter altogether.
Together they taught me to live, to cry, to hold ground and to just be ME.
Appu and Meghna, the two classic beauties. I love you.
Thank you!
